The port of Villefranche-sur-mer
Vieux Port: The old port of Villefranche-sur-Mer with its picturesque waterfront with brightly-coloured fishing boats bobbing in the Mediterranean Sea. Enjoy a stroll along the waterfront or take a boat tour to explore the area.
La Citadelle: This medieval fortress offers stunning views of the bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer. Climb up to the top and take in the views of the Italian Riviera and the old town below.
Promenade des Anglais: Take a leisurely stroll along this charming promenade to take in the scenery of the Mediterranean Sea. Stop and enjoy some of the cafés, restaurants and small boutiques.
Plage de Passable: A small, secluded beach located a few minutes outside of the town, this beach is perfect for a peaceful day in the sun.
Musée Naval de Villefranche-sur-Mer: This museum houses a collection of models, artifacts and documents from the maritime history of the area.
Parc du Château: This beautiful park is the perfect place for a picnic or a leisurely stroll. Enjoy the beautiful views of the Mediterranean and the old town of Villefranche-sur-Mer. The sunny climate most of the year and the charm of the old town make this a busy tourist spot.
If you have a car it is well worth taking one of the coast roads [ Corniches ] that go from Nice to Italy.
If you take the highest road the grande corniche you will be rewarded with some great views of the coast and the hills.
There are several unspoilt little hill villages only a few miles from the sea. Which make perfect places to go for lunch away from the crowds on the coast. Just to name some I have visited Ste Agnes, Gorbio, Peillon, Peille and the village of Eze
