The road to the village of Sartilly

We passed through the village most days on our trips from our base at Le Tanu. The village is split down the middle by the busy D973 road if you want to have a walk round there is a large car park in front of the Mairie office.

We visited Sartilly a second time to see there local Friday morning market. Which is held on the car park.There are several villages in the area to visit we liked La Rochelle Normande a small village about a mile away

The village of Sartilly itself is a charming and picturesque place, surrounded by rolling hills and lush forests. The village contains a variety of traditional stone and timber buildings, and a number of interesting churches.

For those interested in history, the village is home to a number of interesting sites, such as the site of the Battle of Mortain, the ruins of a Norman castle, and the remains of an old abbey. There is also a museum located in the village, dedicated to the history of the region.

Nearby attractions include a number of beautiful beaches, as well as the beautiful city of Avranches. Avranches is home to a number of interesting attractions, including a grand cathedral, an old monastery, and a number of interesting museums.

For those wanting to explore the region further, the nearby Mont-Saint-Michel is a must-see. This beautiful medieval abbey is one of the most iconic landmarks in France, and is well worth a visit.
