Rebergues
Rebergues is a small village located in the Nord department of northern France. Situated on the banks of the river Canche, Rebergues is a peaceful village with a rich history. The earliest known mention of Rebergues dates back to the 12th century when it was owned by the Lords of Bailleul. During the French Revolution, the village was destroyed and rebuilt by the local community. The village is about 4 miles from the old market town of Aire sur la lys. The nearest large town is Saint Omer it is about 11 miles away
We passed through the village on our way to Airs sur la lys.The village is in the picturesque Vallee de la Hem.An area of forests and rivers small towns and villages.Rebergues has an old church with a stone bell tower dating back to 1711.The village has a population of about 150, it was a dull showery day when we visited so we did not see anyone in the village.

Rebergues has a variety of historical sites and attractions. The Church of St. Martin, built in the 16th century, is a highlight of the village. Its bell tower, which dates from the 12th century, still stands today. Visitors can also tour the 16th-century Château de Rebergues, which once belonged to the Bailleul family.
In addition to its historical attractions, Rebergues also offers a range of outdoor activities. The village is surrounded by rolling hills, providing a picturesque backdrop for hiking and biking. The nearby Canche River is popular for fishing, kayaking, and canoeing.
Nearby attractions include the town of Doullens, home to the 18th-century Doullens Castle and its beautiful gardens. The nearby town of Montreuil-sur-Mer is a popular destination for its cobblestone streets and ancient fortifications.
The town of Saint-Omer, located just a few miles away, is home to a variety of museums, galleries, and monuments. Finally, the city of Lille is just an hour away and is home to a variety of attractions, including the Palais des Beaux-Arts de Lille.
