Situated in the picturesque village, Bas-en-Basset (Haute-Loire) on the banks of the Loire River, this beautifully converted stone barn house has a 180m2 living space, with the possibility of a further 60m2 extension.

The village is a 30 minute drive from St Etienne, 45 minutes from historic Puy-en-Velay and just one hour from Lyon.
2.5hrs from the alps,Vercors. 3.5hrs form the sea, Marseille.

The original barn was built in stone at the beginning of the twentieth century and was entirely renovated by architect design in 1994.


The whole living area has been opened up to a view up to the Mallorum hills, filling the house with light in all seasons, and a mezzanine looks out onto a generously proportioned living space. All windows have double glazing and there are electric or manual rolling external shutters in all sleeping quarters.


The house is heated by a Weismann gas condensing boiler system, with water being heated by a combination of gas and solar panels. The hot water boiler was replaced in 2016. There is also a Hase wood burning stove in the living area.
