Pointe du Hoc a D-Day battle site
As you begin your tour of Pointe du Hoc, the first thing that strikes you is the rugged terrain. The cliffs, towering over 30 meters high, provide a formidable backdrop against the relentless crashing of the waves below. It is hard to imagine the sheer determination and bravery it took for the Rangers to scale these treacherous cliffs under heavy enemy fire.

The American WW2 Cemetery at Colleville sur Mer in Normandy
It is a final resting place for over 9,000 American soldiers who gave their lives in the D-Day landings and subsequent operations during World War II.
