Sleeps 6 in 2 double bedrooms and a studio. In the heart of town.
Situated in the heart of Amelie Les Bains close to Ceret is our beautiful home available on a self catering basis. The house has the benefit of its own pool and south facing garden along with a private garage.
The accommodation is bright, renovated and modern with separate studio style apartment on the ground floor. This has its own kitchen and shower room. Upstairs from the large entrance hall using the superb granite staircase brings you to the main living room and kitchen. Large wooden shuttered windows make the whole house very light and welcoming. Up to the second floor where there is one double and one twin bedroom and a large bathroom with cast iron roll top bath.
Many of the fine architectural features have been retained throughout the house. The house also has the benefit of a small sunny garden with a swimming pool. This is a perfect place for relaxing and dining during the day or evening. A 2 minute walk brings you to the centre of Amelie with shops, restaurants etc.
Discover Amelie Les Bains: Amelie has a particularly restful nature and you really do feel that you are in a world of your own. It is is an attractive spa town with the river Tech running near to the house. There is a collection of shops restaurants and a casino. The main street and main square are both relaxed and stunning. A winding uphill road leads to the spa complex and on to picturesque gorges.
Amelie is a prosperous town and has a host of facilities to make life exciting and interesting. There is the local swimming pool within walking distance. This is a lovely outdoor pool in a pretty location next to the river. There are other sporting activities available including tennis and forest activities with lines and block and tackle running across the river!
A host of quality shops and restaurants are in the town, as well as convenience stores and gift shops. The spa is open eleven months of the year . There is a local bus service but we feel a car is essential.
The Local Area: This is a particularly beautiful area with stunning views and so much to do. The historic town of Ceret is ten minutes drive away and is on the way to the fabulous coastal resorts a further twenty five minutes along the road. The coast has not been heavily developed and has miles of sandy beaches and warm seas. In the other direction to the West you climb into the Pyrenees which are simply stunning in winter or summer. Many sports activities are nearby including horse riding and a forest adventure circuit. The locals are keen cyclists and boules players. Gorges and lakes which are especially nice to relax by complete the picture. You will never be short of things to do and see. In the evening there are many fine restaurants within walking distance or a short drive away.
