Cottage in May
The guest cottage at La Petite Vérablière, originally an old cider barn, has been entirely renovated and restored and can sleep five comfortably.
It sits within its own secluded gardens away from the main farmhouse with private parking for two cars.
Inside, there are two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, the master bedroom has a double 180cm/4ft6in bed whilst the second bedroom has two smaller French 125cm/4ft beds.
Downstairs, a wood burning stove is available during the winter months, electric wall radiators in every room and a portable gas fire.
The kitchen is fully equipped with gas cooker, washing machine, microwave, kettle, iron etc. and a travel cot and high chair are available on request.
The garden has a mixture of patio furniture and a barbecue is available for you to use.
La Petite Vérablière, formerly a small working farm, is set in the midst of the peaceful rural Normandie countryside – but within easy reach of all major tourist attractions such as the WW2 D-Day beaches and Mont St Michel.
Situated two miles from the nearest market town of Percy, six miles from the historic medieval town of Villedieu-les-Poêles and about 20 miles from the nearest coast – everything is in easy reach.
Whether you're feeling energetic or you just want to relax and unwind, the area around La Petite Vérablière has something for everyone.
The surrounding countryside and the tow path along the river Vire are perfect for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. The river itself is great for a spot of canoeing!
Riding stables are just around the corner and if you don’t want to go to the beach to swim, then a swimming pool can be found in nearby Villedieu-les-Poêles.
Further afield, the nearest safe sandy beaches are just a 25min drive away The fashionable town of Granville with its lovely French boutiques and fishing port can be found further along the coast heading towards the fabulous Mont St Michel which seems to float above the sea in the bay.
On the opposite side of the peninsula the medieval town of Bayeaux plays host to the famous tapestry and the WW2 landing beaches are a spit further on. If you have a particular interest in anything to do with the war, there are superb museums everywhere in the peninsula but mainly along this coast.
