La Foret Fouesnant
La Foret Fouesnant is a charming seaside town located on the Brittany coast of France. It is a popular holiday destination and is known for its picturesque scenery and stunning beaches.
The town is 5 miles from the fishing port and tourist town of Concarneau and 6 miles from our rented Gite in Saint Yvi

La Foret Fouesnant was about a 15min drive from our rented Gite.We usually finished up here after a day of sightseeing you can park in the centre. Where the Sunday market is held behind a low wall overlooking the estuary.We liked to sit here with a coffee watching the tide come in.
The town is mainly one long road with a few streets off it there is a good selection of shops cafes and bars.The tourist office was a short distance from the old church if you needed any information.You can drive along the estuary on a narrow road to Port la Foret there is a marina and sailing club there

La Foret Fouesnant has a long and varied history. The town was first mentioned in the 11th century, and is believed to have been founded by the Count of Cornouaille. The town grew in importance during the Middle Ages, and was a popular trading post for the region.
In the 19th century, the town underwent a period of industrialisation, with the arrival of a paper mill, a tannery, and a oyster farming industry.
Places to Visit:
La Foret Fouesnant itself has many attractions to offer visitors, including some of the best beaches in the area. The stunning Grande Plage beach is the largest in the town, and is ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and watersports. The town also has a picturesque harbour, with plenty of activities for visitors, such as boat trips, fishing, and kayaking.
Nearby, visitors can explore the picturesque forest of Fouesnant, which is home to a variety of wildlife and plants. There are also a number of nearby towns and villages to explore, such as Combrit, Bénodet, and Beg Meil.
