Inxent France
Places to visit and stay in the village of Inxent photos and guide
The small French village of Inxent is located in the department of Nord, in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region of northern France. It has a population of about 720 people. The village is known for its picturesque setting, surrounded by farms and forests. It is about 18 miles from the port of Boulogne and 12 miles from the seaside resort of Le-Touquet
The valley is very lush and green with lots of small villlages to explore. We choose this location as it was close to the channel ports so not too much driving.
It is close to the town of Montreuil sur Mer
about
5 miles away for all your shopping needs. You can easly visit some of the
best beaches in France on the Cote d Opale coast.
The river runs through Inxent
We stayed in a gite in the village I noticed several signs for gites and
small chambres d hote guest houses. Inxent has a restaurant and small
hotel the Auberge

The hotel is mainly a restaurant
we had a good meal there on a Thursday night.
The restaurant was full which was good considering it was the first week in June.

We stayed in the gite in the photo below it slept up to 14
Inxent is home to several historic sites, including the Church of Saint-Nicolas, which dates back to the 13th century and has a beautiful Romanesque bell tower. The Church of Saint-Etienne, built in the 19th century, is also worth a visit. Other historic sites include the ruins of a 16th-century castle, a 14th-century windmill, and the ruins of a 12th-century priory.
Nearby, visitors can explore the Valley of the Scarpe, an area known for its natural beauty. Here, visitors can take a boat ride on the river, or explore the old ruins of Château d'Avesnes.
Inxent is close to several other villages worth visiting, including Clary, Tressin, and Rumegies. Visitors to these villages can explore the old churches, walk through the cobbled streets, and enjoy the picturesque views of the countryside.
When visiting Inxent, visitors should also plan to visit nearby attractions such as Lille, a city known for its art museums and historic architecture. For a more rural experience, visitors can explore the nearby town of Saint-Omer, or take a day trip to the city of Arras to experience the ancient ramparts and cobbled streets.
