(St Etienne Estrechoux)
For sale
The house comprises a garage and a cave under the living space (living area 100 m2 approx) which is all on one level including a living room with chimney, conservatory,
2 bedrooms with fitted cupboards, fitted kitchen, bathroom with WC, bidet, wash basin and a separate WC with wash basin. Heating includes an enclosed wood fire, oil-fired central heating, supplementary electric water heater and reversible climatization.
On the edge of St Etienne Estréchoux, a village in the Haut Cantons of Bédarieux, this house built about 1970 at 300m is set in grounds of 5000m2 backed by the communal forest overlooking the village.
The grounds contain many fruit and nut trees and a small above-ground wooden swimming pool edged by a secluded, raised terrace. There are two other terraces at the front and back of the house, a well and a barbeque.
Set in a small valley, the climate is protected. As a result the area is a haven for birds and wild-life, such as deer and wild boar. Within a mile there are two initial schools and there is a secondary school in the next valley or in Bédarieux, which is 15 minutes away.
The local services include the nursery school, a butcher’s shop, a Town Hall and in the neighbouring village of Graissessac, a mile away, there is a pharmacy, a grocer’s shop, a doctor’s surgery, a café, a newsagents with bread, a butcher’s shop and hairdresser. There is a weekly market in Graissessac with vegetables etc. And the bread van calls daily at the bottom of the road, where there is also a bus service.
