Hauteville sur Mer La Plage
Hauteville sur Mer La Plage Manche Normandy is a village right on the beach.
The village is best known for its 12th century castle, which is now a museum and open to visitors. The castle was built by the Bishop of Coutances, and is known for its defensive walls and towers. Other attractions in the village include the Church of Saint-Thibert, which dates back to the 16th century, and the Chapel of Our Lady of the Rocks.
For visitors interested in nature, Hauteville sur Mer is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in Normandy. The beaches of Quettehou, La Belle Heüe, La Roque, and Les Pieux are all within a short drive of the village.
The nearby towns of Saint-Lô, Coutances, and Granville are all within easy reach of Hauteville sur Mer, and offer plenty of activities and attractions to explore. Saint-Lô is home to a beautiful Gothic cathedral, and Coutances has a stunning Romanesque cathedral. Granville is a popular tourist destination, with a picturesque harbour, a waterfront promenade, and the Château de Granville, a 19th century castle.
For visitors wishing to explore the surrounding countryside, there are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy. From hiking and biking to horseback riding and kayaking, there is something for everyone. The nearby coastal towns of Barneville-Carteret, Carteret, and Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue are great destinations for a day trip, and offer stunning views of the English Channel.

The town is very much a Summer resort and a weekend retreat.We visited in October midweek and seemed like the only people there.The town has a large cinema and tourist office and must get very busy in the Summer season. There is a great beach and promenade and several cafes and bars.
