The hill town of Gordes
On a Tuesday morning there is a local street market.
You can buy fresh produce local Provencal dishes, clothes, cds etc.
The village has two bread shops you can buy fresh bread or delicious pastries just the smell makes you hungry.
Behind the village a narrow road takes you to the Plateau de Vaucluse an area of valleys and forests.
While you are in the area you must visit the Abbaye de Senanque only 2 miles away it is in a little valley.
A community of Cistercian monks live there they produce honey and lavender to help with the costs of the Abbey.
The 12th century Abbey is open to the public for a small entry fee. You can buy the honey and lavender items in the Abbey
