Established in the mid-19th century by Duke Charles Auguste Louis Joseph de Morny, Napoleon III's half-brother, Deauville quickly became a hot-spot for the French high society. When we arrived in the town we headed for the beach end near the Casino. There are lots of parking places next to the beach. There is a nice garden and park area behind the beach where we had our picnic. We then walked the short distance to the beach. Which was very clean and flat my grandchildren said the sand made perfect sand castles. We enjoyed a walk on the wooden board walk which goes all along the beach.Places to eat restaurants in the town
