A day trip to Paris
On any trip to Paris you will need to plan in advance to get the best out of your visit.
If you want to shop, wander around the old buildings. Or just enjoy the attractions and landmarks,
Paris has something for everyone. A good way to see the city is by boat there are several trips you can go on.
The evening trip with dinner is good value.
Paris boat trip
Paris can be quite expensive but you can still visit some of the sights for free.
Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Chateau de Vincennes and Victor Hugo's House.
Notre-Dame is one of the best Gothic cathedrals in Europe
It is best to get there early it gets very crowded.
One way to beat the queues is to buy a museum and metro pass
then you can go in first
The Louvre Museum in Paris
No trip to Paris is complete without a visit to the Louvre museum.You can see most of it in a day except in the busy summer months
Notre Dame
Visit Chateau de Vincennes although this is a journey by Metro the formidable castle gives some idea of medieval Paris.
Walk through the grounds of the chateau or the wooded park it is a good place for a picnic in the summer
Bois de Boulogne this wooded park is to big to see in one visit.
There are lakes and gardens also a zoo and childrens rides in the amusement park.
Some of the best houses in Paris are nearby.
For shopping try the Galleries Lafayette This famous department store is worth seeing for its coloured glass ceiling and its Art Deco staircase.
The store is very expensive on the ground floor where all of the designer names are. Price are cheaper on the higher floors the store is full of interesting goods.

It is worth climbing to the top of the Arc for the view down the Champs Elysées.
The Palace at Versailles is a must see well worth the trip out of Paris
It is France`s most popular tourist attraction.
It was a modest country house in the woodlands outside of the city.
King Louis V1X transformed it into a grand chateau.
We visited in June it was busy then so I would not want to go in August
