Cassel a small French town
The town has been the site of several battles dating back to 1071.
It was used in WW1 as French headquarters for Marechal Foch. Much of it was destroyed by bombardments during the English army retreat to Dunkerque in WWll.Places to eat in the town and a price guide

We have stayed at several Gites over the years in this area and have enjoyed them all

46 kms from Calais, 12 kms from the very popular resort of Hardelot Plage and 17 kms from Wimereux.
Tennis 2 kms, horse-riding 4 kms, shops 5 kms, swimming pool and sailing 12 kms.
