The village of Audinghen

Audinghen our visit to this small village photos and guide

The village of Audinghen is on the Cote d Opale about 20 miles from Calais.

The village is near Cap Gris Nez light house it is just a few houses.

It is quite now but during WWll it was a busy part of the German coastal defences in this area.

Just up the road is the Battery Todt bunker more details on the link at bottom of page.

You can walk along the cliff tops and see small bunkers and machine gun pill boxes.

If you want to stay in the area and enjoy the countryside and sea views you can see the UK from the cliffs.

I would stay at the seaside village of Wissant there is a good range of accommodation BBs Hotels and a campsite.

It is only 5 miles away. Or you go the other way towards Ambleteuse which has similar accommodation.
