Generating electricity. If you’re interested in generating electricity, then this mill is ideally situated on a premier one river (the Blavet). Louis 16th. gave the water rights to any owner of a mill on a premier one river provided it was in situ in 1540 approx. This mill certainly was. It was restored to it existing condition in 1556 by the same builders and stonemasons that built the Chateau de Rimaison (where the golf club now is situated) Either side of the mill there is a head race. 2 feet one side and 4 feet the other. The difference in water height is approx 2 meters all year round. An enormous amount of electricity could be produced here. There are grants available and EDF are compelled to purchase your electricity at a price higher than it would cost to buy, to encourage small producers.
Well. There is a well by the main house with clear water. It was tested in 2005 and was fine for drinking.
